Mattel has announced a virtual Masters of the Universe experience, HE-MAN AND THE MASTERS OF THE UNIVERSE: YOU HAVE THE POWER! on Roblox. Launching today, the game invites Roblox players and MOTU fans alike into the world of Eternia where they can compete in PvP battles as their favourite Masters of the Universe characters, inspired by the Netflix animated series, He-Man and the Masters of the Universe.
Developed by Gamefam, HE-MAN AND THE MASTERS OF THE UNIVERSE: YOU HAVE THE POWER! is a free-to-play RPG available through Roblox on Xbox One, PC, and mobile for players of all ages. Players can join the fray as one of many Masters of the Universe, battling against their friends and other players in unique Eternian locales. They can also collect and upgrade additional Masters and their cosmetics, and explore Castle Grayskull to uncover its many mysteries.
“Masters of the Universe is an iconic global property about becoming the best version of yourself,” says PJ Lewis, VP Global Head of Action Figures, Mattel. “We’re delighted to be on Roblox to provide a new opportunity for fans to connect with our all new Netflix series via this interactive experience where anyone can explore Eternia through the lens of their favourite characters.”
HE-MAN AND THE MASTERS OF THE UNIVERSE: YOU HAVE THE POWER! is the second Mattel brand to join the Roblox World in addition to HOT WHEELS OPEN WORLD.
With this live experience, fans can also look forward to exciting new content releases for HE-MAN AND THE MASTERS OF THE UNIVERSE: YOU HAVE THE POWER! every month.
Last summer, Mattel and Netflix partnered to bring Eternia back to screens in two series. Masters of the Universe: Revelation is a continuation of the classic storyline from the 1980s. Kevin Smith served as the showrunner for the series, which features an all-star voice cast including Mark Hamill, Lena Headey, Chris Wood and Sarah Michelle Gellar. He-Man and the Masters of the Universe is a CG-animated series, which reimagines the thrilling heroic adventures of the Guardians of Grayskull for a new generation of fans.
Mattel’s Masters of the Universe was first introduced to the world in 1982 through a line of action figures. In 1983, the animated series He-Man and the Masters of the Universe premiered and became one of the first children’s programmes to be syndicated on television.
