Hornby is inviting its legions of fans to join in the fun of its Jubilee Takeover, a week dedicated to all things royal.

To mark the first day of its Takeover week, Hornby has announced a selection of special models, including the celebratory HST and matching Mk3 coaches, which reimagines what an HST unit would have looked like in this celebratory Platinum Jubilee year. The iconic Class 43 power units in Platinum Jubilee silver plus blue trim livery, with matching six First Class and two First Class Restaurant sliding-door Mk3 coaches, would make a never-to-be-forgotten image while racing along the East Coast Main Line.

As part of the celebrations, the company will be releasing its second Beyond the Buffers podcast episode, where experts will be talking about Hornby’s royal history, and a special competition will be going live, with a bundle of incredible prizes up for grabs.

Meanwhile the Engine Shed will be a not-to-be-missed Jubilee extravaganza, plus there will be a host of Jubilee activity sheets available to download and print. The next episode of Signal Box will be going live, too.
