Stacking Game De Stijl Jenga in the Colorful Style of Piet Mondrian (MoMA) « Toy Blog

New York’s Museum of Modern Art’s MoMA Design Store has released an incredible, multicolored version of the Jenga stacking game inspired by the De Stijl (the style) art movement, founded by a group of Dutch painters, architects and designers, including names like Piet Mondrian, Theo van Doesburg and Georges Vantongerloo in 1917.

The MoMA De Stijl Tumbling Tower game brings the aesthetics of the De Stijl movement to life with its bright primary colors and geometric shapes with super colorful paintwork, which adds an extra level of difficulty. MoMA says it’s like playing with an interactive Mondrian painting.

The MoMA De Stijl Tumbling Tower is made from sustainably harvested rubber wood, is suitable for ages 5 and up and the assembled tower measures 30.5 cm high by 7.6 cm. The game was designed by Monica Albornoz through MoMA’s collaboration with the School of Visual Arts’ MFA Products of Design program.

The MoMA De Stijl Tumbling Tower stacking game costs US$58 at the MoMA Design Store, which accepts orders from Brazil.
