The Doors “Waiting for the Sun” from 1968 with Jim Morrison, Ray Manzarek, Robby Krieger and John Densmore « Toy Blog

Funko has released a deluxe Pop! Albums paying homage to the brilliant album Waiting for the Sun, the third studio album by the iconic North American rock band The Doors.

The Doors “Waiting for the Sun” Pop! Albums Deluxe comes with stylized dolls of the band’s four members: legendary songwriter and vocalist Jim Morrison, keyboardist Ray Manzarek, guitarist Robby Krieger and drummer John Densmore. All with the same clothes and poses as in the photograph that decorates the album cover.

The Doors “Waiting for the Sun” Pop! Albums Deluxe also comes with a platinum disc (sold more than 7 million copies as of 2015) and a reproduction of the cover of Waiting for the Sun, released in July 1968 and the band’s first album to reach number 1 on the charts. Billboard.

The original photo was taken by photographer Paul Ferrara, who was a personal friend of Jim Morrison.

The set comes protected inside a sealed transparent acrylic box with the dolls attached. The box can be displayed on a shelf, on the table or hung on the wall.
